Painter Pants

You know that your house is a mess when your kid has his own painter's pants, shirt and shoes.

I have tried out MANY colors of paint, and Jasper has done his share of experimenting with the paint as well. This last week the painters were in full swing and things were even messier than normal.

When we got back to the house (the one we live in now) I noticed how much paint Jasper had accumulated on his little body.

Friday Afternoon

We are obsessed with packing around here, and Jasper is getting a little fed up with all work and no play.

After BEGGING to go out back and enjoy our 70 degree weather, I finally gave in and we went outside so play.

We had such a wonderful time. There is nothing like fresh air and sunshine to lift your spirits. Not to mention Clipos and a good pirate book.

Jasper is in love with rocks, and found a few favorites while we played outside.

We love our beautiful weather, and look forward to more sunny days to come.

Self Packing

Our house is a mess of boxes and packing paper.

Tonight after dinner Mike and I were working on our ever growing list of items to buy for the new house from Lowes.

As usual, Jasper climbed up and down off his little chair. Only tonight he got a little adventurous and climbed into a box...and got stuck. Don't worry -- we let him out. Only for him to try it again!

Story Time

Yesterday was our first time at the Paseo Verde Story Time for the Only One's group.

We had THE BEST TIME and can't wait to go again next week.

We sit in the story time room and and play games, use puppets and sing songs. We always close with everyone's favorite -- bubbles!

Most of the kids just sit in their mom's lap the entire time. Not Jasper.

He is working the room and running his routes, investigating every single thing.

We have a set of triplets that are in our class. Whew! Makes me feel not too busy.

Jasper was completely taken with the computers. This boy...he loves electronics! Like father like son.

Little Ladder

The painting crew has a small ladder that Jasper loves to climb. He thinks it's his monkey bars.

Yes, that's a spoon in Jasper's hand. He is teething (again) and loves to chew on it.

All the painters are very nice to Jasper and put up with us while we were still picking bedroom colors at the last possible minute.

The taught Jasper to roll the blue tape like a toy. Of course Jasper just wanted to throw the tape, and anything else he could get his hands on down the stairs.

Birthday Fun!

We had a Birthday Party for Mike at the firm yesterday.

I got a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for the party. I always get a Costco cake because they are cheaper, then when we are cutting through the 2 inch thick balloons on the cake I always wish that I would have gotten a Dairy Queen cake. So this time I did.

It was delicious. Quite a few people even stuck around and had seconds -- because it is just delicious. So, high marks for the cake.

Of course the real hit at the party was Jasper. He had a great time, and managed to rediscover his favorite thing in the break room -- the recycled water bottles bin. He thinks it is a ball pit, only with water bottles. He loves to climb in and play. Silly boy.

Jasper also had fun climbing on some boxes in Mike's office.

Happy Birthday Mike!

Happy Birthday to Mike!

We love you!

You are a WONDERFUL sweetheart to me and a super dad to the little J-man.

I made this shirt for Jasper to wear to Mike' "surprise" birthday party this afternoon at his office. The party was supposed to be a surprise, but Mike figured me out.

We still refer to is as "Mike's surprise party" -- even though it is far from a surprise.

Mr. Fix It

I will admit that in the past Mike hasn't done a plethora of home improvement projects. Mostly because we haven't had our own home to fix up.

Last week Mike hung overhead garage shelves and installed a garage door opener.

When Mike tried to install the garage door opener for the 3rd bay of the garage he needed something to rest it on until he had the hardware up.

Lucky for Mike he took most of my sewing and craft items over earlier and placed them on the garage.

Mike improvised with a tower of material and craft items. Maybe now he won't diss all my fabric and ribbon. :>

Busy Babbling Bather

As I have mentioned before, Jasper could spend hours in the sink if he was given the chance.

He is just babbling up a storm these days. Not sure what he's saying -- but he sings and "talks" all day long.

Here's a snippet from today's sink time activities.

You should see what the other kid looks like...

The above is Mike's favorite response to inquiries about Jasper's shiner.

Yes, Jasper manged to get his first black eye one week ago. I had secretly hoped the first one might happen on Mike's watch, not mine.

It happened when Jasper took a header during his bath last Monday.

I can't wait until it clears up, because everywhere we go, EVERYONE has to ask about it.

Look-a-like

I was looking through photos on my computer tonight and found some photos of my nephew Parker from 7 years ago.

Mike took Jasper to get his hair cut last week, and it is pretty short. With Jasper's new hair cut, he and Parker look A LOT alike to me.

When we were at my parents home this summer Parker and Jasper got to hang out together. We think Parker is a very handsome young man. Watch out Parker -- your twin is right behind you!

Valentine Crafts

Last week I had a Valentine craft party with Miss E and Miss L while their parents went out to dinner.

Jasper tried to help me babysit, but he was whisked away by Mike early on in the evening, as to stop him from further destruction at their house.

We decorated heart tins with stickers, paper hearts and good old modge podge.

We also made Valentine craft garland. We used 2 inch wide ribbon, and a gluestick to add paper hearts to the ribbon. It was super easy and they turned out really cute!

On His Perch

Jasper stood on this stool for 30 minutes while I unpacked part of our kitchen items and adjusted shelf heights.

I think this might be his new kitchen helper stool. He always wants to be in on whatever I am doing.

Pony Party

Today was Jasper's first ride on a pony and first birthday party of a friend to attend.

Haydin's 4th birthday was a my little pony party with live ponies. One dressed as a princess and one dressed as a unicorn.

I am not sure how masculine it was, but Jasper rode the unicorn pony.

Jasper didn't quite know what to think. He liked riding the pony much more than just sitting still on the saddle.

At the party there was also a clown who did face painting and balloon animals. Laura really knows how to throw a party.

Jasper and I were real party poopers, as we just stayed for a few minutes. We couldn't stay because today was a big packing, moving and painting day for us - as we are trying to get a lot done to prepare for our move to our new house on January 24th.

Thanks for sharing your special day with us Haydin.

Lindsay & Travis

We were lucky enough to get to see Lindsay & Travis Wilson while they were in town for Christmas.

I worked with Lindsay for 6 months when I was on assignment with EFY at BYU in 2007 -- and I love her!

We had fun taking Lindsay & Travis over to the new house for a tour.

I am super excited for Lindsay and Travis to become parents of a baby girl at the end of April.

Here's a photo diary of our visits with Lindsay -- and Jasper's growth.

We saw Lindsay & Travis in August.

Jasper and I visited with Lindsay this summer while we were in Provo, Utah.

We also saw Lindsay last Christmas when Jasper was just 4 moths old. This was THE visit where Lindsay introduced us to the now famous Trader Joe's Candy Cane Joe-Joe's.

We love you Wilson's!

Does any one want to sign up for storytime with us?

Paging Dr. Davidson

Jasper is named after his great-grandfather, Dr. Halvard Jasper Davidson, who was the "town doctor" in Manti, Utah for many years.

Jasper seems to be following in Grandpa Davidson's footsteps.

Jasper LOVES his toy stethoscope. He will wear it for hours at a time -- and sometimes for the entire day.

Jasper loves it when we use our best intercom voice and say: "Paging Dr. Davidson".

He makes house calls if you need a check-up.

First Time Home Owner's -- That's Us!

It's official! We bought our first home yesterday.

We took Jasper to the signing with us, which was quite an adventure. When all else fails, I stick him on my shoulders, and he's content. Jasper even got in a game or two of peek-a-boo.

We are super excited, and can't wait to move in and get settled in a few weeks.

Most of the interior paint is crazy -- I mean crazy! So all the paint has to be redone before we move in. I'll post the photos of the interior after the paint is up.

We patiently waited for our housing market to go down, and our patience paid off. Our new home (which is 2 years old) is only 1 mile away from where we live now.

It is in a quiet cul-de-sac with a huge backyard (by Vegas standards...land of postage stamp backyards) where Jasper can run free. We are thrilled to stay in the same ward.
